| Loutra |
|
is the island's traditional resort with warm surphurous spa-waters, a hydrotherapy centre and
plenty of tavernas, rooms to let and a hotel with cure baths.
Tradition says that the water comes undersea from Vesuvious and the springs of Kakavos
and Agioi Anargyri have been used since ancient times as a cure from rheumatism,
even gynaecological problems. Nothing has been changed since,
and every summer plenty of people are visiting the place for cure.
Close to Loutra was found the oldest known settlement of Cyclades dated back to 7000-6000BC.
In Loutra there is a sandy beach and close by is Agia Irini, a beach with pebbles.

| Merihas |
|
the port on the west coast, is situated around the three sides of a small bay with a tree fringed beach.
Merihas has a small marina and a few tavernas, rooms to let and a hotel.
North from Merihas is the popular sandy beach of Martinakia.

The Monastery houses island's venerated icon of Virgin Mary. Kanala has a nice sandy beach, taverna and rooms to let,
