Afissos is a captivating harbour town rises like an amphitheatre from the clear gentle waters of the Pagasitic Gulf.

It is believed that the ĞArgoğ the ship of Jason and the Argonauts, used this little harbour of Afissos to supply itself with water for their expedition.

It is a holiday resort centre situated on a hillside amongst the olive groves. A charming wide beach comprising of three sandy bays all of which are fully surrounded with trees. Afissos has alredy been famous for its clear water.

Afissos has a warm enjoyable ambience in summer, offering a wide selection of taverns and bars along the waterfront and in the small but colourful village square.

Afissos is surrounded by three attractive beaches. Two of them pebble -Lagoudi (bottom picture on the right) and Abovos- and one sand -Kallifteri. Some water sports are available: water skiing, bananas and windsurfing. Otherwise the more active may choose to stretch their legs along the peaceful waterside paths that lead along the coast from Afissos, building up an appetite prior to sampling the mouth watering fare on offer in the town's excellent taverns.

It is also attractive for the great number of traditional old houses built at the beginning of this century. The ideal location for exploration of the region combined with Afissos's friendly hospitality, its relaxed character while providing a choice of night life makes it ideal for holiday resort.
