Platania resort Pelio Greece

Platania Pilio Greece

Platania is the largest fishing village and faces the Aegean at the foot of the peninsula. Platanias is not just a fishing village it is also home to some of Pelion most stunning sandy beaches.

A short stroll from the village is the main beach, a long stretch of sand with a few pebbles. Follow a coastal path for a further ten minutes and one comes across the wonderful sight of the long sandy beach and crystal waters of Mikro beach.

In the summer months, Platania harbour is used as a port for various ferries and Flying Dolphins which can be utilised to visit nearby Skiathos Island.

Platania provides a pleasant nightlife, with evenings spent in the waterside taverns which serve, amongst many other choices, a wonderful selection of the day's catch.
