A well positioned seaside village which enjoys a great location on the sea front overlooking Pagasitic Gulf. It is set amongst olive trees ascending the hills and pear trees reaching down the sea.
Kala Nera is an ideal resort for family holidays. Apart from the swimming in the clean and safe water of the sea there is the possibility for fishing, sailing, surfing and water-skiing. The drinking water in the village is good for the digestion, that's why there are so many fountains in the village which also took its name from the nice water of the area. A short distance away and not far from Kala Nera is another seaside resort called Gatzea. It is worth seeing its stone built monastery of Ayias Triadas with the impressive entrance and the scenic view of the sea.
From Kala Nera picturesque paths lead up to Milies and Vizitsa. Having Kala Nera as a base you can visit all Pelion as well as Sporades islands, as small caiques make trips every day to the islands.
