Milies is one of the most picturesque villages on Pelion with distinct old houses, clear water and fascinating colourful paths, it provides a profusion of colour throughout most of the season style, harmony and beauty are its outstanding characteristics.
From the summer of 1996 the little steam train, named "Mountzouris", has started to run again from Volos to Milies after 25 years. Technological development and some modern necessities, of the village have obsolete that traditional means of transport.
In Milies very close to the old railway station is a cave which according to history provided shelter to Chirona and his student.
The historical Museum exhibits the manuscripts of scholars who took part in the Greek Revolution of 1821.
